Our Mission
We exist to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus. Habakkuk 2:14; Matthew 28:18-20
How do we define disciple/discipleship?
We believe a disciple of Jesus is someone who, by faith, is on a lifelong journey of becoming more like Jesus; this process is called discipleship. Luke 9:23; Philippians 1:6
We believe there are four essential aspects of genuine discipleship:
Lordship of Christ: we personally commit to daily, love-based obedience to Jesus’ commands no matter the cost and no matter how often we have failed Him in the past. John 14:15
Transformation by God’s Word: In community we study and memorize scripture, practice worship-based prayer, and mutually encourage one another to imitate Jesus. These practices make a space for God to change our inner-self. 2 Timothy 3:16; Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:24-25
Spiritual Mentoring Community: in healthy relationship an experienced mentor is helping us in our process of becoming more like Jesus, with the goal of us one day mentoring someone else in the same manner. 2 Timothy 2:2
Sacrificial Service: we care for the practical and spiritual needs of all whom we are connected to with the love of Jesus by investing our time, resources, and our spiritual gifts. John 12:26; Ephesians 2:10; 1 Corinthians 12:7; Matthew 5:14; 2 Corinthians 9:7-8
our Vision
That the people, families, and churches in our city are transformed by the love of Jesus, for the glory of Jesus! John 17:16-18; 2 Corinthians 3:18
